Impact of Solar Power

As we look around from  Metro city to Tier-1 to tier- 2 and lately to country side, the number of hours electricity is available reduces from 24 hours / day to 2-3 hours a day.  Although  situation are better in state like Gujarat , Uttrakhand but states like Uttar Pradesh , Bihar , Jharkhand observe regular frequent power cuts which runs in days .
Most affected by this problem are not Corporate which may run their operations on Diesel Generator or Urban household who have Energy Storage devices (Power Inverter – Batteries) but farmers whose main source of income is agriculture and for which they need to Run Water Pumps.
In villages, the power shortage is severe and despite government assurance’s, the availability of power during peak season of harvest remain as low as 1-2 hours. Due to which,  the dependability of farmers on monsoon is very high and possibility  to have multiple crops during a year using irrigation facility remains a dreams resulting in poor yield per square hectare of land per year .
Sun is an Infinite source of power which has been available to us since inception of life on the earth. .We have been trying  to use the sun rays in by converting it into different forms of energy as required …But a decade before , Conversion of Sun Irradiation directly into electricity was a technology available in labs only under testing condition due to High cost investment and low efficiency . But with continuous R&D work and Wide scale Production, Technology has evolved to adopt this at Mass level and available to all for use .
This tech is proving a BOOM for agriculture sector and in India the adaptation is growing faster than ever. The Reason is farmers can install the system at their farm/roof and can use to lift water from underground and run it’s drip irrigation system. As India have almost 300 Sunny days in major of states and for duration starting from morning 9 am – 5 pm, when the load demand is maximum.
These solar systems reduce the dependency of consumer on govt. to provide connection and timely electricity. This system will help farmers with having multiple crops in a year with better water availability to grow them. Also Solar system can be used to charge Batteries in idle day’s which can help run Fan/Lights/Computer/mobile at home.
So these Solar power pump goes way beyond the usual benefit and help in bring education , better healthcare facility , improved living condition , better source of income and connectivity to outer world . Solar Power is clean source of energy and it maintain the ecological balance of Land without need of any rehabilitation and can be harnessed at point of consumption without need of running kilometer length or transmission or distribution lines .
We are bound to see multiple application of Solar power including Nuclear/Coal Plants be soon be replaced by Solar farms ,  Steam generation , Hybrid Vehicles and Small application like Mobile charger , Water Purifier , Solar Fan , Solar Fencing etc.
This revolution has already been started taken place at grass root level and this gives ray of hope. An optimism that sector employing majority of Indian Population is bound to get upgraded, impacted and that too in Green form with betterment in their source of income.

Solar power has the capability to impact every aspect of life and all in positive way.

Music - Empower your soul !

Technically Music is Defined as – “vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.”

But ask a layman and you are going to hear something like this  - “ Music is one which can’t be explained but only felt “ “ one which touches your heart and souls and transform to other world “ .

It happens many time when you don't want to talk to anyone, time when you brain stop processing any information, time when your loved ones look like mad crowd to you . Other time , you just don’t want to talk with anyone , don't want to discuss anything . At Times when any artificial light seems to drain energy from you.

It happens when body and mind wish to go in “HIBERNATION “Mode and only savor seems to be Music. As saying goes “One size doesn't fit all “, similarly everyone has different taste for music.

Even depending on situation, conditions, surroundings and most importantly mood , same person wish  to hear different genre of music . There is a logic and science behind how music tends to soothe mind and soul. Even Doctors and psychiatrist prescribes patients to listen to instrumental music especially Indian classic to help heal body quicker. Now days expecting moms are advised to play and listen to specially created musical content which helps in better baby growth.

Most of the top performing sportsmen, leaders, politicians admit to hear their favorite song / music before any big event which can be a Major game play or Public speech.

Ages since Ages music has survived and have been growing and it’s difficult to find anyone on this planet at least who don’t like a single genre of music.  Millions of people have built their entire career across music and it goes way beyond our regular Bollywood numbers. For adventure seekers sound of ocean waves serves as music, for mountain climber’s music is what played by wind at 20,000 plus feet height, for Moto- enthusiastic roaring of a engine is music to their ears.  What can be irritating for one can be melody for other?

Now Question arises why suddenly I started writing an Impromptu post with every fifth word as” MUSIC “.Reason behind is the discussion happening between me and my friend. He believes Music causes distraction and waste times and decrease productivity. On the other hand , I am music junkie believes and support listening to music is like medicating or performing yoga which actually help me in concentrating and act as steroids for my creative side of brain .

Although, his example too hold good when violent /aggressive side of a person takes over his soft side when he is continuously exposed to dark side of music. But then it’s true for everything in life. It’s always comes to interpretation of everything which defines how we wish to use it. Same argument is going on for ages for technology, weapons, education and numerous other things.

So as a reader of this blog, I would like to know people who have been reading this post what their views are. Let’s keep this as an open debate and hear what all perceives.

As an Individual, My theory remains – Music is the Gateway to our souls

Impact of your deeds - Kal ho na ho

Yes. Life is unpredictable and perishable . It’s gone soon enough before we realize what we really want to do out of it. Between the two extreme phases try to make an IMPACT , one which will be remembered forever
Days over days, months over months followed by years we keep on living the dreams and goals set by the society or family for us. I know, it’s good and important to give ears to their advice and opinion on way to lead life but making it the destiny we wish to conquer is way bad.. This makes us herd of sheep, who only move in group and never give independent thought on what if I go in any other direction.
Small example is what we celebrate as festival are derived according to dates marked on calendar , So season start with new year and end with Christmas and entire School , Collage , Office and Even Families plan around them .
Help Kids on the street, because at end of life we don’t want to see our life wasted on acts which are mirror of what people done to us.. Let’s our inner-self not guided by deeds of other rather by what we truly are  , a  person who wants to believe in the 0.01% hope. Help everyone , may be as small a guiding a blind or senior citizen in crossing road to distributing sweets to road side kids or as big as leaving my day to day job to start a venture which is 99.99% surety of failure but our heart sees a hope and wish to do it …
When we actually start doing this, then only we can celebrate every moment of life, because consequences no longer affect our attitude towards life and its situation. Be like a child, who is happy every time he saw you, every-time he learns a new things, every-time he is faced with new roadblock he keep trying and trying. These small task gives us confidence to try and fight with bigger one and beyond a point we don’t care about the outcome of your efforts , rather we start enjoying the efforts we are putting it .. When we can judge ourselves and get in habit to put a pat on the back as we set higher and higher benchmark for ourselves we start loving every moment.
So a street beggar can be more happy than world’s richest man, because as Gandhi ji said” There is enough for man’s need, but not for man’s greed”.
All this can be summed up in two songs which are on top of my play-sit and i hear them a ritual whenever i look for support /motivation and wish to feel good.
First One : ”
Title Song – Kal Ho Na Ho
Second One ”
Haste , Haste Kaat jaye rashtey ,
Zindagi yuhi chalti rahe  !!!
Khushi mile ya gum , Badlenga na hum ,
Duniya chahe badalti rahe ”

Bringing back the peppy side - My better half

Life has become so fast paced that we forget to even count how quickly the days or even weeks pass- by and we are unable to acknowledge the deeds of our near-one who are always thinking and working for us behind the scene in their wishes , thoughts , prays and deeds .

My wife is one of the peppy gems, who act as the creative director of my real life film. As famous proverb goes “Behind every successful man, there is a women”, but in my life there were four of them. Started with my mother, 2 sisters and then come wife as i advanced in various stages of life. It has been 5 years of Marriage and due to professional responsibilities, the so called work -life balance was nowhere to found and the scales are heavily tilted towards work, which took almost 13-15 hours every day and similarly every weekend passed away in attending seminar/conferences/corporate events. Whatever time left behind gets divided into attending family functions and taking care of household duties. So no matter how much I feel  and keep telling my wife sorry for not giving personal time to sit /talk/eat/drink/travel with her and to understand her expectation and perspective of life , Helplessly all I have been giving her is a dead smile .

But this time, I decided to break free from this routine before it breaks me. I booked a resort at Lansdowne over long weekend on HOLI for just 2 of us. Lansdowne is a Hill station situated approx 250 Km from Delhi in Uttarakhand State. When I told her about this plan 1 week before actual travel date, she was very skeptical and based on my history of postponing everything for work; I expected this doubt naturally from everyone. Finally the day arrived and we packed our stuff in car, which I decided to drive and keep driver at home to utilize the travel time to open up. As we started, I have mentally prepared to hear complaints and issues related to home and my attitude towards her. Surprisingly, Reverse happened and she actually praised me as how i have been putting my wishes and comfort at stake to give entire family financial security and help in crafting a better future.  For next 3 days, we watched movies together, Relived our 8 years of togetherness which included 5 year of marriage and 3 years beforehand. We eat/drink/sleep/laughed/played like old collage days and had zero communication with external world .There was no alarm clock ringing , no cell phone buzzing , no sudden burst of anger /frustrations . What was there was two of us in present form and a believe that no matter what happens we will remain on each other side forever and keep inspiring each other to fulfill our duties along with not forgetting our love for each other .

At the end of trip, we promised to keep a week apart from world just for each other every year and go on a holiday/vacation which will keep us going for remaining 359 days of year.

Events which leave ever lasting impact

Events are known to leave ever-lasting impact on us .. Few are scary and others inspire us to look back whenever we feel short of courage or need to take some impact-full decisions . I would like to narrate one such incident  .

It was very very late in the night or I can say too early for a morning because even newspaper hawkers and milkman who are obviously first to wake up in the world are also 2-3 hours away from hitting the roads. I seemed to be landed in a No-man's Land at 3 am in morning and the surrounding seemed to be a perfect setup for EVIL DEAD version 34.

I work with a Company involved in installation of Wind Turbines and these are generally located at sites far away from residential/commercial area and put up on barren or abandon land parcel. So travelling to these sites is always a logistical challenge. As my work involves pre-site survey, I am generally the first one to venture to these sites before team is given go ahead for further civil work.
During One such assignment, I need to visit a site which is 120 km away from railway station and there was only 1 train going from Delhi and reaching around 9 pm in night. It was month of January, days were short and the density of fog was super high. Due to FOG my train got late and reached at 2 am in morning. Being a broad gauge there was no Pantry attached and I was starving for food for almost 6 hours since dinner time. Also my phone has gone dead; the station was in complete dark due to probable power cut. Only 2 more passengers got down at the station and both seemed to be the Warrior of Dark Forces :). I was shivering with cold and was hungry and was scared to hell and there was no single transport to take me to the hotel 40 km away. With low on energy, even my mind started slowing down. In the darkness, even dog barking seemed to echo like a lion's roar. Although I know it's childish to fear from dark, but yes I was scared as hell. For the first time, I prayed to God to send someone.

To get over my fear, I started singing loud. Although, I was messing up with lyrics of song and my mind was only throwing songs taken from Horror movies like, but I kept singing.

Suddenly I saw a flash of light, probably coming from a torch with increasing intensity coming towards me. It was a 75-80 year old man with “Khaki “ colored uniform who came very close to me and whispered “ Bhai , Kaun ho “ . I was so happy to see a Human Figure and desperately wanted to HUG him but my social sense prevailed and I calm told my entire situation.

He introduced himself as a Hawker for the only newspaper stall on Station; he has lost his memory and got separated from his family 10-12 years ago. He took me to his closed shop , opened it for me and offered Water , some food . I thought He will use this situation to charge high money from me but he totally refused to take any and said “ We are child of One God and instead of Paying it to me ,  hopefully help someone in future who seeks help from you “ “ It’s our way to keep humanity alive “ .

I was totally moved by his words and courage.  He shared his mattress with me and let me sleep inside his shop to prevent from cold. At 7 am, when fog reduced and people started arriving on station, he made some breakfast for me and arranged a taxi to drop me to hotel .

After my site visit, while taking train back to Delhi . I again met him and thanked from bottom of heart.

So every time, when I feel world is getting worse and humanity is vanishing. I recall that night encounter and get re-filled with optimism that there is still a hope. And I will continue to pass on this hope to everyone surrounding me.
